E-mail (Electronic Mail) is a method of exchanging digital messages between users over the internet using email protocols (SMTP, POP3, IMAP).

Advantages:

  1. Speed — Messages delivered within seconds worldwide
  2. Cost-effective — No postal charges, free services available (Gmail)
  3. Attachments — Can send documents, images, videos
  4. Record keeping — Automatic storage of sent and received messages

Disadvantages:

  1. Security risks — Vulnerable to phishing, spam, and hacking
  2. No personal touch — Lacks the warmth of face-to-face communication
  3. Information overload — Excessive emails can reduce productivity
  4. Internet dependency — Requires internet connection to send/receive
