a) Services provided by Operating System: Process scheduling (multitasking billing + print), memory allocation + virtual memory, file management with permissions, device control via drivers/spooling, security (accounts, MFA, logs). OS hides hardware complexity behind GUI/CLI.

b) Taskbar — move, auto-hide, resize: Taskbar is the bottom bar with Start, pinned apps, open windows, system tray and clock.

Move: Right-click → uncheck Lock taskbar → drag to top/left/right/bottom edge → Lock again. Settings → Personalization → Taskbar → position also works in Windows 11.
Auto-hide: Right-click → Taskbar settings → Automatically hide taskbar in desktop mode ON — bar appears only on mouse hover, freeing screen for long ledgers.
Resize (height): Unlock → drag top edge up/down (Windows 10); Windows 11 fixes height but allows icon size/alignment (left/centre) change. Lock after to prevent accidental moves.
