E-governance (Electronic Governance) is the use of information and communication technology (ICT) by government agencies to improve government services, enhance transparency, and increase citizen participation.

Types of e-governance:

  1. G2C (Government to Citizen) — Services from government to citizens. Example: Nepal's Nagarik App for citizenship, passport, and vital registration services.
  2. G2B (Government to Business) — Services for businesses. Example: IRD (Inland Revenue Department) online tax filing system.
  3. G2G (Government to Government) — Inter-government communication. Example: LMBIS (Line Ministry Budget Information System) connecting ministries.
  4. G2E (Government to Employee) — Services for government employees. Example: Payroll Management Information System (PMIS) for civil servants.
