Who can apply?#

For the Assistant Computer Operator position, the notice requires that candidates:

  • have passed SLC/SEE from a recognized educational institution; and
  • have completed at least three months of computer training.

This is an entry-level Computer Operator opportunity. The notice does not require a bachelor’s degree for this position.

Age limit#

The age limit stated in the corrected notice is:

  • Male candidates: up to 35 years
  • Female candidates: up to 40 years
  • Candidates with disabilities: up to 40 years

Before submitting your application, compare your citizenship details and date of birth carefully with the requirement in the official notice.

Application fee and deadline#

The examination fee is:

  • NPR 400

The final application date is:

  • 2083/05/16, within office hours

Do not wait until the final afternoon. A physical submission can fail because of an incomplete document, a missing self-certification, a payment issue or a misunderstanding about the office location.

For any extension, correction or updated instruction, follow the official Buddhashanti Rural Municipality notice page (opens in a new tab). The original notice is the final authority.

Documents to prepare#

The notice asks candidates to submit the following with the application:

  • a copy of Nepali citizenship;
  • copies of the educational certificates required for the position;
  • evidence of the required computer training;
  • two recent passport-size photographs;
  • the receipt showing payment of the examination fee; and
  • self-certified copies of all educational and supporting documents.

A self-certified copy means that the candidate signs or certifies the copy personally before submitting it.

Keep one complete copy of your application, payment receipt and every document you submit. This makes later document verification much easier.

Where to submit the application#

Submit the application at:

Buddhashanti Rural Municipality
Administration Section
Budhabare, Jhapa

The notice says that the application form and syllabus can be obtained from the municipality website. Check the Buddhashanti Rural Municipality notices section (opens in a new tab) for the application form, corrected notice and Assistant Computer Operator syllabus.

Selection process#

The recruitment process includes four stages:

  1. Preliminary merit list
  2. Written examination
  3. Practical examination
  4. Interview

Only preparing MCQs is not enough for this vacancy. You should keep written theory, practical computer work and interview readiness active together.

The examination date will be published later by the municipality.

What work may the selected candidate do?#

The notice says that the selected Assistant Computer Operator may work at:

  • the Bhagirtha Neupane Buddhashanti Hospital counter;
  • a hospital department assigned by the hospital; or
  • another office assigned by the municipality.

That means you should prepare not only for theory questions but also for practical tasks that are useful in an office or hospital environment: typing, document preparation, spreadsheet work, handling records, printing, file organization, email and basic data entry.

What should you study?#

The notice states that the syllabus will follow the curriculum approved by the Federal Public Service Commission for the relevant post and level.

Start with these practical priorities:

  • computer fundamentals;
  • Windows and file management;
  • Nepali and English typing;
  • MS Word document formatting;
  • MS Excel calculations, tables and basic formulas;
  • PowerPoint basics;
  • email and internet use;
  • basic data entry and record management;
  • printing, scanning and office-device handling; and
  • general office procedures.

Use the Computer Operator MCQ practice area to revise common technical topics. For understanding concepts before practice, use the Computer Operator notes library.

A simple preparation routine#

A useful daily routine can be small but consistent:

  1. Study one topic for 30 to 45 minutes.
  2. Practise 20 related MCQs.
  3. Spend 20 to 30 minutes doing a real practical task on a computer.
  4. Write down mistakes and uncertain answers.
  5. Revisit those mistakes the next day.

For example, if you study MS Excel today, do not stop after reading notes. Create a small table, use SUM, AVERAGE, IF, sorting and formatting, then answer Excel MCQs.

The practical examination may reward candidates who can complete basic tasks calmly and accurately, not only those who remember definitions.

  • you are applying for Assistant Computer Operator, Assistant Level 4;
  • you meet the SLC/SEE and three-month computer-training requirement;
  • you are within the stated age limit;
  • you have attached two recent passport-size photographs;
